Highlights
On the 4th of July I was talking to a friend at a BBQ who is a technology influencer at her company. She asked, "How do I stop getting 15+ cold emails a day from salespeople!?"
I passed along a couple tips to respectfully tell someone to pause future communication, and I also asked her in turn "Of the messages you do get interested in, what grabs your attention?"
The answer was so simple, yet SO many salespeople miss it: "I get intrigued when I see a creative subject line, see that they've done some research on me/my company, and have an opinion. I may not have a need for their technology now, but I do file those emails away if the time comes that I might."
This is a terrific reminder directly from someone who works with technology companies. The right message may not be at the right time, but you'll never get the meeting with a bad, generic message. #customercentric #prospectingtips #salestips
