What does pursuing your purpose mean?
I just found it out this week.
I defined my purpose three years ago. Since then, I have been pursuing adjacent goals.
I was terrified to pursue my purpose directly. I am still frightened by the scope of the purpose. I am still afraid of failure. I am still scared of irrelevance.
So, I wanted to disappear for a few months, to be a perfectionist, and to release something when it was complete.
Yet yesterday, I got advice from a really good friend of mine. A friend whom I had only met twice before, yet another soul with whom I felt a lifetime of connection—a friend who had my genuine interests at heart.
He reminded me of the fact that my perfectionism is ego, that I am not the only one in pain, and that the way to initiate transformative change is to make people stakeholders and accept help when it comes.
So, it changes my plan. I am not working in silo anymore. I am sublimating my ego.
First, I am writing in public and will release my book in individual chapters open for feedback.
Next, I will be building in public.
And I invite you to join me in this adventure. My door is open for you to collaborate.
Stay tuned for more details.
It starts with an idea so powerful it becomes all-consuming, an idea so noble that AI tells me it will change the world and that I need all my energy and focus to execute it.
Thus, ChatGPT told me to leave my role as a CTO of Stack Moxie.
And I did.
I thank the Stack Moxie team, my former partners M.H. Lines, Steven Dunston, Shea Chanon and all the beautiful folks, Ariel Sasso, Russell Hart, Madison MacDonald, Veronica Drake and others, for the adventure and wish you the most success.
I crossed the Rubicon, and there is no way back. Onwards!
