In the Summer of 2019, I was a part of Refinery29, Inc.'s first News Fellowship -- a production team of young women that invested in telling news stories -- where we launched a new series on R29's YouTube channel: Truth Told.
I was able to pitch news stories, be hands on and help with productions, and even be talent in one of the videos. But what I am most proud of is the piece we did about Eve Andrews Wiley's story and journey of bringing about more fertility legislation.
I traveled to Texas where I produced alongside the amazing cameraman Edoardo Marino. We spent about 3 days traveling through Dallas and Austin gathering the best elements to piece together Eve's story. Eve, thank you for allowing us to tell your story. And Ed, it was an honor working and learning from you!
Also thank you to Sabrina Santoro for encouraging me to apply, and Megan Boal, Dani Eddy, and Justine Lang for interviewing me, allowing me to be a part of this amazing program, and trusting me with this story.
Emily Holshouser, Astrid Kayembe, Ashley Omoma, Estephani Cano Martinez -- I am so grateful to have worked with, learned from, and be inspired by you strong and empowered women!
