Shannon McGinnis

Accompanist/Recitalist/Vocal Coach

Shannon McGinnis is an accomplished musician and educator with a strong background in DMA in Accompanying and Chamber Music from the University of Michigan School of Music, as well as a Master of Music in Performance with a focus on Vocal Coaching and Accompanying from the Florida State University School of Music.

Currently, Shannon holds the position of Executive Director and Vocal Coach at the Collaborative Arts Institute of Chicago, showcasing her expertise and leadership in arts administration and vocal training.

With a diverse range of experiences, Shannon has previously served as a Faculty Vocal Coach at the Up North Vocal Institute, Rehearsal Pianist with the Kentucky Opera, and as a versatile Free-lance Recital Accompanist and Vocal Coach through self-employment.

Furthermore, Shannon has shared her knowledge and passion for music as a Vocal Coach and Adjunct Faculty member at Roosevelt University's Chicago College of Performing Arts, and as an Assistant Professor of Piano and Coordinator of Accompanying at Truman State University, solidifying her reputation as a dedicated educator and collaborator in the field of music.
