Sharada also serves as a non-resident fellow at the Center for Technology, Innovation and Competition at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research at 1 World Connected, a global initiative, revolves around innovative approaches addressing challenges related to broadband adoption.

With a background in Public Policy from the National Law School of India University and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Ramaiah Institute Of Technology, Sharada brings a multidisciplinary perspective to her work. She advocates for infrastructure investments in connectivity to complement efforts in education, health, social protection, and women's economic empowerment to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.

Throughout her career, Sharada has held various roles such as CTIC Research Fellow (Non-Resident) and Associate Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, contributing to cutting-edge research in technology, innovation, and competition. Her internships at organizations like R Street Institute and Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) have provided her with a diverse skill set and a deep understanding of global internet politics.
