Dr. Sharell Mikesell, PhD, is a seasoned professional in the fields of polymer science, nanotechnology, and industry-academia collaborations.

During his tenure at The Ohio State University, he held the position of Associate Vice President of the Industry Liaison Office, focusing on expanding industry partnerships and promoting innovation.

He was the Executive Director at the Ohio Polymer Strategy Council and served as a Vice President at Advanced Elastomer Systems and Owens Corning, bringing over 30 years of corporate leadership experience in research and development.

Dr. Mikesell's educational background includes a PhD in Polymer Science from The University of Akron, an M.S. in Physical Organic Chemistry from The Ohio State University, and an A.B. in Chemistry from Olivet Nazarene University.

He is a respected member of various boards and advisory committees and has been actively involved in advancing polymer science and engineering through his contributions to organizations like PolymerOhio, Inc., the College of Polymer Science and Engineering at the University of Akron, and the UIDP.

Dr. Mikesell's expertise spans polymer and material technologies, with a focus on product and applications development, research, and technical leadership.

His role as the Co-Director of the Center for Multifunctional Polymer Nanomaterials & Devices at Ohio State showcases his commitment to advancing nanotechnology and fostering cross-institutional collaborations.

In addition to his notable professional accomplishments, Dr. Mikesell continues to engage with the scientific community through his involvement in the Industrial Research Institute (IRI) and other industry-related organizations.
