  1. My good buddy is a VP sales in digital healthcare. One of his biggest frustrations is being hit up by the big dog recruiting companies and being in switched on the first interaction & having a conversation with a junior associate who has little to no detail about the role. I understand that newbies need their at bats and more seasoned recruiters at those firms are busy but practicing on VP & above level candidates doesn’t exactly provide the best experience. Time is something that these folks don’t have.

  2. This doesn’t apply to only VP of sales, but ghosting anybody especially VP level candidates is absolutely fucking wild to me. Sure the client might not be giving you feedback. The client might have other people they like more in play. Most candidates understand this what they don’t understand is where the hell did you go? did you fall in volcano? Toss your phone in a lake? Wild stuff

  3. The amount of companies that are not founded in the US that are coming here to to try and fix healthcare in the US is brave to say the least. Our healthcare system is so hard and complicated and hiring one or two AE isn’t going to cut it. you have to hire people who have built verticals with healthcare with in the United States. People who know the landscape and regulatory environments so if you were interviewing at a company and being asked to be a founding AE, I hope you know the space really really really well.

Thoughts on waking up before the birds:

  • It f*cking sucks but creating better habits is worth the soul sucking sound sent by the devil himself that is your alarm clock.

  • I have two little kids. It’s solo daddy duty every morning as my wife is out the door super early. The better I feel, the better and more present dad I am.

  • It works better with my schedule.

  • Helps me prepare for a long day of being kicked in the mouth

  • I just overall feel awesome, that’s really it.

  • This post is a direct result of Brent Orsuga showing up on my feed and TikTok daily. Thanks for the kick in the ass.
