Proud of our George Fox University President, Robin Baker, for his selection as part of the American Council on Education's commission on faith-based institutions alongside leaders from national faith-based universities like Notre Dame and Brigham Young. Dr. Baker has been an important voice in the national conversation on the role of faith-based institutions in American higher education, and how they can better collaborate with secular institutions. His presentation on Tuesday, to over 80 heads of institutions, is an important contribution to the discussion of where spiritual life and formation play a critical role in the education of our communities, and how we can more broadly come together for the public good.
I appreciate the American Council on Education's emphasis on faith-based education given the importance that religious life has for millions of Americans, but also the need to facilitate dialogue about common bonds in the face of today's strife and disconnection.
