Shawn Tsao is a prominent figure in the food and technology industries, currently serving as the co-founder/manager of Umai Hospitality Group and Beluga Capital.

His primary focus at Umai Hospitality Group is crafting exceptional and unforgettable food experiences, while at Beluga Capital, he provides investment guidance to technology firms.

In 2012, Shawn co-founded Caviar, a renowned food delivery platform for restaurants, which achieved remarkable success within its first 6 months, hitting 7-figure annual revenue and profitability. Square later acquired Caviar in August 2014.

Before his venture at Caviar, in 2011, he ventured into the tech world as a partner at Munch On Me, a daily deals platform for specific dishes at restaurants, incubated as part of the Y Combinator Summer 2011 batch.

Shawn Tsao earned a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture with a Minor in Sustainable Design from the University of California, Berkeley in 2011, showcasing his diverse academic background.

Apart from his entrepreneurial pursuits, Shawn has been actively engaged in running a Cal Football Blog since 2010, displaying his passion for sports and community engagement.
