🌏 Showcasing our Nucleate Global Activator Semi-Finalists!
As the @Nucleate Activator season ramps up, chapters around the globe are seeing teams in their respective locales coalesce in what promises to be the most deeply talented Activator cohort yet. At the Global Virtual Activator, we are fortunate to help facilitate this process on a truly global scale: 37 cities across 16 countries across four continents.
From Kampala to Nice to Lima — our semi-finalists hail from many corners of the world, bringing diverse innovations and experiences to the forefront. In total, we received a record-breaking 31 inventor applications along with 78 contributor applications.
By allowing entrepreneurs in any region—particularly those not traditionally thought of as "biotech hubs"—to participate in Activator and receive world-class expert mentorship and funding, we seek to level the playing field in biotech startup formation.
We are inspired by the sheer intellectual and geographical diversity we’ve encountered so far, and we look forward to a groundbreaking Activator season ahead. If you are interested in partnering with us in our mission to democratize access to biotech venture creation globally, please email [email protected].

Last week to apply to Nucleate’s Global Virtual Activator!
Nucleate is a global nonprofit created by and for academic trainees (undergrads, PhDs, postdocs, MBAs, etc.), run by over 800 volunteer leaders worldwide. Nucleate’s flagship equity-free accelerator, Activator, has graduated over 200 biotech startup teams from around the world, which have collectively raised $310M+ USD and created hundreds of jobs.

We are immensely proud to feature Valentina Wandel-Petersen, PhD Candidate at BioSynaptica SA/Universidad Nacional del Litoral, as she reflects upon her transformative experience competing in last year’s Global Virtual Activator.
