It's Starting! I love the Olympics. When else do people and nations come together, compete for the love of their sport and proudly represent their countries. Athletes train, sacrifice, and push themselves to do the most incredible things.

My childhood dream was to go to the Olympics in gymnastics. I saw Mary Lou Retton on TV and I was hooked. My gymnastics career was long and full. I had amazing teammates. Though I made it pretty close, it wasn't meant to be. Injuries sidelined me. Then life took me on a different path.

In many ways, that's what drives me to build SpringSpot. To be that resource and tool for parents, athletes and coaches to help kids and athletes build healthy habits for life to stay healthy, injury-free, and stay active. I salute all the athletes competing at the Paris Olympic Games this year, it took a lot to get there. I also salute the parents, because without your love, dedication, and support it wouldn't be possible.

So here is to following your dreams and then adapting and fulfilling new ones!

Role models know no boundaries.

For those of you that haven't seen it yet, here are the top-selling NBA jerseys based on NBAStore.com sales for the entire 2023-24 season. As a Warriors and Curry fan, I was delighted to see Stephen Curry #30 top the list. His second year in a row. Also thanks to my two sons (and even my 2 year old daughter), I know all the other player names on this list as well. If you'd shown me this list a year or even two years ago, I probably would not have known half this list.

Sports have the power to capture the mind of our youth and inspire them to reach new heights and share that passion with those around them.

This list also shows a story of persistence, overcoming adversity, resilience and the global impact of sports. The top two are players considered "old" for the NBA and five of them are international players, born outside the US, with the #4 top-selling jersey from Victor Wembanyama, the only rookie on this list!!

What's also not shown on this are the silent heroes of these athletes, the parents, guardians and coaches that helped these youth athletes become great. Because behind each of these phenomenal athletes, was a great support system. When they were younger, they had to grow, build that muscle of resilience and competitiveness, and belief in themselves that is necessary to thrive not only in their sport but also in life.

May this be a lesson for all of us, young and older, that you can still be at your top game and inspire others no matter what age, background, or team you play on. Thanks to organizations like Positive Coaching Alliance and Aspen Institute Sports & Society (Project Play) for their work to build healthy communities and positive experiences through youth sports. We live and breathe this at SpringSpot.

Next year, I hope that this list will also be published for the WNBA, and I'll look forward to seeing Caitlin Clark and @Sabrina Ionescu and more on that list!
