Highlights
Worried your presentation has too much information that you’ll leave your audience more confused than they came? We’ve all been there.
When it comes to communication, it’s better to share one clear message than several that aren’t fully formed.
The real challenge isn’t the data—it’s how you share it. How can you present important, complicated information without overwhelming your audience? The answer is storytelling. It’s not the facts that are the problem, but how they’re shown. Data alone doesn’t usually inspire people. To make an impact, you need to connect the facts to real human experiences.
As Brené Brown puts it, “Maybe stories are just data with a soul.” 💫

My nerves keep me from being a great speaker and if I learn to stay calm I would be better. True or false?
Think of a smooth ocean. It looks flat and calm, right?
But the truth is there’s tumult, animal life, and so many more things going on below the surface. We may not see it, but it’s there.
And this is also the truth about public speaking. Your nerves might be heightened sending all kinds of chemical reactions through your body. The key to good public speaking is channeling that energy in a way that serves you because the nerves never really go away.
So, the answer is false. You can learn how to manage your energy by reframing your nervousness into excitement and use some of that energy to motivate.
For all my speakers and presenters, how do you channel your energy before presenting?
Find out how I do it by checking out some of my videos! https://lnkd.in/dW3yr65K
