Why I'm More Than Just a Health Tech Founder:

💡 For the past few years, you've known me as a health tech founder, sharing the ups and downs of building a company. But my passion for healthcare goes much deeper. It started long before my founder journey, giving me a unique 360-degree view of the system. And I've realized that some of the biggest problems patients face aren't solved by doctors alone.

📖 Let me tell you a story: A patient, whom I'll call "Sarah," lost 20 pounds in a matter of weeks due to a severe stomach issue. She was desperate for answers as the pain grew so much that she was barely able to eat. She needed to see someone, but getting an appointment with a specialist was nearly impossible, even after great persistence and many attempts. Weeks turned into almost two months, and the health issues continued.

That's when I heard about the issue.

🗺 With my knowledge of the healthcare system, I helped Sarah navigate the administrative maze, coached her on advocating for herself, and finally got the August appointment and needed procedure scheduled within 10 days. It wasn't my clinical expertise that made the difference, but my understanding of the hidden barriers keeping patients from getting the right care at the right time.

But Sarah's story isn't unique. I've heard countless others just like it. And it's made me realize that fixing healthcare isn't just about technology or medical breakthroughs. It's about addressing the systemic problems that create roadblocks for patients to get care.

⏳ So, what can we do about it? #HealthcareLeaders: Let's stop considering healthcare a purely clinical problem. We need to involve people from all backgrounds – administrators, patients, technologists, and more – to create solutions that address the root cause of access issues while considering the entire patient’s experience.

#Patients: You are your own best advocate. Don't be afraid to ask questions, seek second opinions, and push for the care you deserve. It can feel weird at first, but the more invested and involved you can be, the better your chance of getting the answers and care you need.

#HealthcareNavigation: I'm committed to using my experience and knowledge to help bridge the gap between patients and providers. I'm here to share what I know, connect you with resources, and advocate for a better healthcare system that benefits everyone. As a consumer of care myself, I understand the roadblocks and frustration. I also understand the delicate balance it takes to get to the answers and resources you need.

Let's discuss how to fix healthcare's problems. If you're a patient with a story and feel lost in the system, reach out.
