Excited to share my first ever tech post! When I first decided to experiment with Django and Elasticsearch, I thought getting started would be as easy as downloading any other dependencies in Vagrant. I quickly realized how wrong I was. So, after spending several hours reading articles and Stack Overflow posts, I decided to write this article and put it all together in one place, so that it would help other developers with debugging errors that might come up during configuration and set up. Feel free to share it with folks looking to try these tools, or just anybody else who is interested! #python #django #elasticsearch #vagrant #macos #programming
Six months ago, I started working as an attorney at Casetext, a company that is building its own AI to make legal search better. One of my projects was to train the NLP algorithm behind their newly-launched product, Compose, that constructs well-supported legal arguments in 20 minutes. Working closely with engineers made me realize that I wanted to be a part of the engineering process itself, and I decided to join Hackbright Academy in January 2020. Three months in, I have learnt more than I hoped to, made some ever-lasting friendships, and built a network with budding women-in-tech who are ready to revolutionize the tech industry.
Not only did the team at Hackbright provide us with a wholesome learning experience, they were with us every step of the way, even more so during this time of crisis. Special shout-out to the instructors and management for ensuring that we receive our education, no matter what, where, and how.
With that said, I am excited to share my very first webapp called Home+ – a personalised user dashboard designed to help users manage their daily apps in one place. If you are hiring or know someone who is hiring for software engineering roles, please feel free to share my LinkedIn profile with them. Thank you!
