Atom-Nirbhar Bharat: India & Nuclear energy investments

A recent announcement has been that India is set to put in motion construction activities for 10 'fleet mode' nuclear reactors over the next three years.

Across the world, nuclear power is making a resurgence due to carbon neutrality pledges and the concerns surrounding energy security. In a bid to meet net-zero pledge and embark on energy independence, India is planning to increase the capacity by 300% to 22,480MW.

Way forward for the nation would be to invest in nuclear & hydrogen to meet the energy independent India (by 2047) and net zero targets (by 2070).

Indian VC ecosystem 2022 & 2021: VC funding reached an enviable $38.5B in 2021 with record number of unicorns and VC deal >50% for the first time. Capital deployment made deal size and volume bigger with 3 sectors (ConsumerTech, fintech, and SaaS) accounting for 75%+ of all VC investments (value). 2022 has started on a cautious note but is keeping the momentum up on the web3.0 & crypto based startups.

While one can hope for more record breaking years, sustainability and creation of value for all stakeholders is the key here. It would be interesting to see the growth of web3.0 & crypto and the rise of India as the global hub for startups.
