C.A.S.H # 11: Different prospects and tailored approach
To predict any kind of sales cycle while we are building a pipeline, it’s necessary to understand different stages and where these prospects are.
There are 10% of people who are in buy mode at the top of the pyramid and most google ads are targeted at them.
The competition is fierce and ads are targeted to take them directly to the web page and to the shopping cart. They know about their problems and they are actively looking at solutions online.
The warm prospects are best put in the awareness stage which makes up 30% of your audience. They are not searching but they are open to buying.
They are aware of their problem and hence free consultation, demos and seminars works for them effectively and can increase their buying intent.
The final 60% are cold prospects who are sitting at the base and have no idea that they have a problem.
They are still good candidates for selling and make up your pipeline in the distant future. For them, even the CTA needs to be cold. Free guide, quiz, product updates, anything that makes them aware of the problem but isn’t required of them to take action, works!
Try dividing your prospects into categories and accordingly engage with them. This helps not being pushy with cold clients and not beating around the bush for hot prospects.

C.A.S.H. # 10 The one question gaining traction with the ongoing digital age.
I was talking to one of my colleagues where he mentioned how frugal it is to do online courses and have certifications and how you can only be relevant by working in that field and gaining hands-on experience.
He argued a lot of such advice is only theoretical to a vast expanse and especially when it comes to digital marketing and advertising, it’s necessary to learn while you are in the role, and only then can you grow.
I empathized and agreed reading cannot take over experience but for people interested to learn the skill and someday plan to make a switch, isn’t an online course the first rung of the ladder?
During the pandemic, we all got a lot of time to evaluate where we are and where we plan to be. It's encouraging to see my peers add skills and courses to their LinkedIn. But is it all just a push in the right direction or can it really help you stand in the crowd?
