Beyond the high-level frameworks, what does a biotech diligence look like? What are the kinds of questions asked?
This was a question that I initially found challenging to answer from online resources and conversations. Only after two graduate degrees and multiple biotech internships have I only begun to be able to address it.
While non-exhaustive, I wanted to encapsulate my understanding of biotech diligences and drug development in this article, which serves as a capstone of my experiences over the past three years. It hopefully serves as a introduction to this space for those exploring biotech and highlights both the complexity and nuance that embodies drug discovery. After 3 fruitful years, I’m delighted to share that I have graduated from The Wharton School and the University of Pennsylvania with an MBA and a MSE in Bioengineering, respectively.
At Wharton, I had the privilege of being part of the Healthcare Management program, where I shared a deep passion with my peers and the community of Wharton Health Care Management Alumni Association.
At UPenn, I bridged the world of business and biotech, taking MSE classes in PK/PD and learning from professors like Carl June!
The dual degree program gave me the chance to truly build a well rounded skill set and deepen my love of all areas of biotech. I learned so much from my four internships across biotech startups like Generate:Biomedicines, biotech venture capital at DCVC and 8VC, and business development at Genentech!
I also wanted to pay my learnings forward by establishing LifeSci Beat Podcast by Wharton Health Care, the first ever Wharton podcast dedicated to the business of biotech, and by leading Wharton Venture Partners, where I developed perspectives on cell therapy and AI/ML in biotech (https://lnkd.in/esqSM5dw ).
Thank you to my Boston Consulting Group (BCG) mentors who helped me get here. So excited for what’s to come - stay tuned!
