Simon O'Connor is an experienced professional with a career spanning nearly 20 years at the crossroads of economics, finance, sustainability, and the environment in various capacities across Australia, the UK, and for global clients. He has a diverse background from consulting to industry, working as an investment analyst, and contributing to the NGO sector.

Simon's current role as the CEO of RIAA, a prominent industry body with 240 members who collectively manage over $9 trillion in assets globally, focuses on driving more capital towards sustainable assets and enterprises. Prior to this, he was actively involved in advocating for a 'New Economics' within a leading Australian environmental NGO, emphasizing a cleaner, more productive, and sustainable economy.

Additionally, Simon has served as a Senior Economist and Director at Economists at Large, a public-interest economic consultancy, where he provided consultancy services to community groups and international NGOs on environmental and sustainability matters. He also gained valuable experience as a responsible investment analyst at Innovest (now MSCI) in both the UK and Australia, aiding in establishing the Australian research team and consulting on sustainability issues for major industrial clients.

Simon's educational background includes a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Science from Monash University and a Bachelor's degree in Commerce and Arts majoring in Economics, French, and Japanese from the same institution.
