Simon Parizhsky

Program Director at Eshkolot Project

Simon Parizhsky is a prominent figure in Jewish education and cultural initiatives, particularly in Russia and now internationally. He served as the Program Director of the Eshkolot Project from March 2009 to March 2023.3 Parizhsky was an instructor in Hebrew literature and poetry at the Lomonosov Moscow State University.1

Currently, Parizhsky is the Program Director of Ideas Without Borders at Beit Avi Chai in Israel.3 This initiative is a continuation of his work with Eshkolot, now focusing on providing educational and cultural content for the new Russian-speaking Jewish diaspora worldwide.1

Parizhsky has been involved in Jewish studies in Russia since the early 1990s.2 He played a key role in developing innovative approaches to engage young Russian Jews with their cultural heritage, organizing events in public spaces like cafés, parks, and museums to reach those unaffiliated with traditional Jewish organizations.1

Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Parizhsky moved to Israel and adapted his work to serve the growing Russian-speaking Jewish communities across Europe and Israel.1 His current projects include virtual classes on Jewish history, podcasts for teenagers, and a video series exploring Jewish artifacts in world museums.1
