Highlights
Thoroughly enjoyed hearing Stela SOLAR speak today about responsible AI and the difference between “consumer grade” generative AI and “robust business-grade” generative AI at National AI Centre's AI at Work event in Sydney.
Lots of fascinating insights and useful guidance on what to consider when choosing an AI supplier, and how to support employees to begin to adopt and adapt to AI, that I know our team will definitely utilise.
Thank you to Stela, and the team at National AI Centre for a great event and extremely valuable presentation.

Thank you to Jo Wood, Amit Singh and the team at Mandala for hosting me on behalf of Hourigan International today at their table at the Sydney lunch forum of Mariana Mazzucato's Mission Led tour in Australia.
In addition to the delicious creme brûlée, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing about Professor Mazzucato's public policy innovation vision and her concept of the Mission Economy: A Moonshot Guide to Changing Capitalism.
Joining Professor Mazzucato on stage were:
- Ed Husic MP, Minister for Industry, Innovation, and Science
- Professor Andrew Parfitt, Vice-Chancellor and President, University of Technology Sydney
- Emily Scivetti, COO, Oceanex Energy
- Geraldine Doogue AO, Australian journalist and broadcaster
- Doug Hilton AO, CEO, CSIRO
- Daniel Mookhey, MP, NSW Treasurer
It was a stimulating chat and there were many references to what we at Hourigan International would consider a call to creative-minded leadership, the capabilities required to take action, collaborate across silos, and move with pace to solve complex social, environmental and economic problems. If we could do it in the face of a pandemic, why isn't it the norm for tackling our many other pressing challenges?
I'm looking forward to reading the book!
