Slater Bayliss is a well-respected veteran in Florida politics with over 2 decades of experience in government and business policy issues.

He co-founded The Advocacy Group and has a strong background in business recruitment and economic development.

Slater served in Governor Jeb Bush's administration where he held various roles, including personal assistant to the governor and deputy policy director.

He played a significant role in a successful citizen's initiative campaign to repeal a provision from the Florida constitution.

Slater holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Communications from the University of Iowa and a Master's Degree in Applied American Policy and Politics from Florida State University.

He is actively involved in academia and teaches a graduate seminar at FSU's College of Social Sciences and Public Policy.

In addition to his political career, Slater has been appointed to various boards, including the Florida Sports Foundation and Florida Prepaid College Board.

He has a strong commitment to community service, having served as Chair of the Florida Sports Charitable Foundation and the Board of Directors for Tree House of Tallahassee, among other positions.

Slater is also involved in philanthropic efforts, raising funds for causes like the U.S. Central Command Memorial Fund and the Florida Hurricane Disaster Relief Fund.

He was appointed by U.S. Senator Marco Rubio to his Military Service Academy Nominating Commission and by Governor Ron DeSantis to The Florida Prepaid College Board.

Slater resides in Tallahassee with his wife Sara and is a proud parent of 3 children.
