Sofie Fatouretchi is a musician and artist born in California to Austrian and Iranian parents.1 She is a classically trained musician who studied concert violin and viola at the Konservatorium in Vienna during her teenage years.1
Fatouretchi's career in music began with an internship at Stones Throw Records, an independent music label in Los Angeles, where she was later hired as a digital manager.1 Her role quickly grew to include A&R, where she signed artists such as Grandmilly, Mndsgn, Knxwledge, and Stimulator Jones.1
She started DJing at a Stones Throw-hosted night called 56.1 She connected with Boiler Room and became responsible for hosting, programming, merchandise, and creative direction.1 As of 2017, she resides in Vienna, studies painting at the University of Applied Arts, and philosophy, plays violin in the Wiener Akademische Philharmonie, and works as a DJ with radio shows on London’s NTS and Austria’s FM4.1 She is a presenter at NTS Live LTD (NTS Radio).32 Her debut solo album, Cult Survivor, was released on Stones Throw Records in June 2020.1
