Materials Scientist and Engineer

Soheil Razmyar is a seasoned materials scientist and engineer with over a decade of comprehensive laboratory experience in both academic and industrial settings, notably at Siemens Energy.

His expertise lies in investigating the microstructure-properties relationship of a wide range of advanced materials including ceramics (thermal barrier coatings, fuel cells, batteries), semiconductors (nanostructures, thin films, chemical vapor deposition, photocatalysts), metallic materials (mechanical testing, failure mode analysis of superalloys, stainless steel, and cast nickel alloys), and polymers.

He holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Science, Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Soheil Razmyar has held various roles in prestigious organizations such as Siemens, where he worked as a Materials, Coating, and Failure Analysis Engineer, and at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory as an Orise Mickey Leland Energy Fellow with the Department of Energy.

Prior to these positions, he served as a Course Instructor, Materials Testing Engineer, Graduate Teaching Assistant, and Graduate Research Engineer in academic settings at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and West Virginia University.

His research interests and professional engagements showcase a multifaceted understanding of materials science and engineering, with a strong focus on practical applications in diverse industries.
