Highlights
As I look back on Pride Month, I have the usual shiny happy pics that display the delightful trappings of My Life As A Corporate Queer. I’m immensely grateful to work for a company that truly supports LGBTQ+ equality in the workplace and doesn’t just rainbow-wash once a year. I’m so very proud of the passion that emanates from our queer BRG leaders and members. It’s a yearlong vibe, but we get to kick it up a notch or ten in June.
And yet it’s been a bittersweet month, as we commemorate the Pulse massacre (and worry about when the next round of violence will come), the Obergefell decision legalizing same-sex marriage (and worry that rights will be taken away as a result of the upcoming cringey presidential election), and the 55th anniversary of Stonewall (because the first Pride was a riot and the fight’s far from over). I hope that the festivity has recharged my queer community. We are a resilient bunch, and we’re gonna need to hang onto that with everything we’ve got. Miles to go before we sleep!

Had the privilege of spending #Juneteenth with my #SaveMosesCemetery crew for some education, celebration, and activation. ❤️💚🖤 As someone who does DEI in a comfy corporate setting, it’s always grounding and humbling to be among those out there fighting the good fight to make sure #BlackLivesMatter from the cradle to the grave.
