Highlights
I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Brand, PR and Comms Manager at Atlantic Labs!
✨ Some personal news, yesterday was my final day at Sifted.
When I first joined Sifted, Amy and Helen had smashed out some Sifted Talks — which cranked up some impressive reg numbers — but had much bigger ambitions.
It’s rare to get the opportunity to build and grow something from scratch — and even rarer to create something that is so well received.
We sensed a hunger for events that cut through the usual PR fluff, spotlighted the startup operators doing the work behind the scenes and provided space for intimate ‘off the record’ discussions on important — yet controversial — topics.
But the odds weren’t always in our favour. We powered through a pandemic to produce our first Sifted Summit, missing nationwide lockdown by one day. The show went on in our Sifted Sessions / Stockholm after a snowstorm prompted even hardcore swedes to close schools. Since then, we have surpassed too many TFL train strikes to count.
We struck a balance between ‘big name’ speakers and people who just really knew their shit…hosting a former president in Tallinn, Klarna’s Sebastian in Stockholm and GetYourGuide’s Tao Tao in Berlin.
We built up relationships with startup communities who constantly challenged us to do more with our voice — Included VC, Series Q, Founderland, Alma Angels, VentureESG, 2hearts, Zebras Unite, Colorintech, The BAE HQ to name a few.
I’m also proud to have had our projects commercially supported by a sales team led by Katie who had class, grace and were smooth closers — even rejecting some partnerships on the basis of ethics.
The Sifted’s events rodeo still has so much in store, but I’m excited for my next steps...as I'm moving to Berlin to manage brand, comms and pr for Atlantic Labs, a fund I’ve had a positive feeling about since my first chat with Franziska and Thilo 💚
