One of the first steps we are taking to make Stripe interoperable with the broader payments ecosystem is partnering with the best PSPs worldwide to supercharge our global reach. Thanks to our partnership with top Korean PSP NICE Payments, merchants in the US can now get access to any local Korean card brand (there are more than 20!) as well as top wallets KakaoPay, NaverPay, and SamsungPay -- all with the click of a button.

Beta users saw auth rates in Korea improve to >98% (!). We have similar partnerships launching in Nigeria and Indonesia later this year -- DM if you want access!

Small life update—after ~4 years working on Local Payment Methods, I’ve started a new role at Stripe leading our Payment API and Money Movement product teams. All three teams have been on an absolute tear for the last few months. Here’s a few of my favorite ships:

🇪🇺🇬🇧🇳🇴🇨🇭🇭🇰🇸🇬 Businesses across Europe and APAC can now get paid in multiple currencies with Alternative Currency Payouts. As of last month, businesses in Australia, the UK, Canada, Singapore, and the US can also get access to their funds instantly 24/7365 with Instant Payouts.

🇸🇪🇳🇴 In February, we announced a first-of-a-kind partnership enabling businesses in 27 countries to accept Sweden’s top payment method, Swish. As of last week, businesses in each of these countries can also access Denmark’s top payment method, MobilePay, with zero eng lift.

💳 Last quarter, we GA’d RevolutPay and AmazonPay, and launched betas with 8 additional LPMs — TWINT 🇨🇭, Alma 🇫🇷, PayTo 🇦🇺, KakaoPay 🇰🇷, NaverPay 🇰🇷, SamsungPay 🇰🇷, Shinan Card 🇰🇷, and Canada Bank Transfers 🇨🇦. Please reach out if you would like to get access!

🪄 Some fun secret sauce: nearly all of these payment methods integrated themselves to Stripe using our new “Reverse API”. This is a big deal, because it means we can ship payment methods faster and uphold a consistent product standard across each. Reach out if you’d like to get access!

There’s so much more good work coming that we’ll be announcing at Sessions in San Francisco later this month, and you can still register: https://lnkd.in/eay6aZAd.  Enormous and heartfelt thank you to the wonderful people on each of these teams who’ve made it so fun for me to come to work.
