So a guy shows up. Does his thing. And then gives me a lecture about battery/ advanced chemistry 101. And I am quite impressed.
And I say “so what, you are an engineer or something ?”
And he says. “Yeah…. Started my career at Nokia Bell Labs "
Then I tell him about Celesta Capital ‘s Nokia deal etc. and how we are big into deep tech ! We talk about AI and AR/VR etc.
Then he wants to know more about the areas Celesta invests in and partnership with Nokia Bell Labs to commercialize key technologies etc.
“Let me let you in on a secret !” He continues. “I have a PhD in computer science and electrical engineering. Started 3 companies. And then my partner screwed me during Covid and then I decided I had enough of all this shit and I retired after 40 patents to my life ! And 2 great exits ! And one not so much !”
I say. “That’s awesome ! What the hell are you doing jumping people’s cars on a Saturday morning for AAA ?”
He says “I am bored sitting at my home and want to do something to get out of the house. So I do this ! Till I figure out my next startup !”
I go “so where do you live ?”
He goes “I can’t tell you”.
And I say “that’s cool”
