Esteemed colleagues, please meet my parents, Helene and Johannes Marti. They recently passed away, infected with COVID-19, within a week of each other. To make this tragedy not pointless and honestly infuriating, I decided to update some of my attitudes to celebrate what my parents taught me about leading a decent life:
-
My mother taught me to be infinitely patient with everyone, to never be disrespectful, and to never give up explaining. She was a teacher and taught in that way, but being patient, polite, empathetic, mindful of others, and simply “nice” was her way of interacting with everyone she met.

My father taught me that life does not consist of a first phase when one learns, followed by a second phase when one simply recites the acquired knowledge and wisdom. Life is learning, until the end. He accumulated an incredible amount of knowledge, but he was always eager to learn, understand, and figure out things that were new to him. To the end.
Going forward, I will honor my parents by promising that I will re-remember being always empathetic, understanding, and patient, like my mother was. I will also promise that I will always both teach and learn, simultaneously, since life is learning, to the end, like my father showed me. RIP, dearest parents.
One of the super cool projects that my FX team has been working on for a few years already: Shape-Shifting Controllers: https://lnkd.in/eveZcPP The video is cool, but watch out for our even more awesome prototypes!
