Steffen Scheuble is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Solactive, a company specializing in index creation and financial services.12 He began his career at Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt, working in the Derivatives Department for several years.1 Scheuble then moved to a Swiss consulting company as Head of Institutional Business, where he worked on creating Solactive before acquiring it through a management buyout in 2007.13

#award #etfs Lao Tzu said that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a first step. Our first step was a trip to Canada 12 years ago. We had no clients there, but were hungry to do business in a new market for us. Who would have guessed back then what the future had in store for us?
Everyone told us that the biggest challenge would be winning the first client, but if we succeeded in that, many additional partners would follow. We had to cross the ocean many times in the last decade, but the results were worth our incredible team's efforts. On May 7, 2014, Horizons ETFs (Canada) launched the first ETF in the Canadian market linked to one of the Solactive AG indices.
