Stella Batalama

Dr. Stella Batalama is currently deeply involved in higher education administration and has a strong background in various technical areas specializing in underwater signal processing, communications, and networks.

Her research interests include cognitive and cooperative communications, covert communications and steganography, robust spread-spectrum communications, adaptive multiuser detection, multimedia security, data hiding, and small-sample-support adaptive filtering and receiver design.

Stella Batalama holds a Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Patras, a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia, and has completed the prestigious Program for Leadership Development (PLD 1-5) at Harvard Business School Executive Education.

She has held key positions at various academic institutions, such as being the Dean at Florida Atlantic University - College of Engineering and Computer Science, a Professor at the same institution, Chair of the Electrical Engineering Department at the University at Buffalo, and an Associate Dean for Research at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University at Buffalo.

Additionally, Dr. Batalama has served as a Board of Directors Member at Calspan University at Buffalo Research Corporation (CUBRC), a Professor, Acting Director of the Center for Integrated Transmission and Exploitation (CITE) at the United States Air Force Research Lab, and in various roles in the Electrical Engineering Department at the University at Buffalo.
