New ink for National Geographic! The topic? A surreal trek through South Greenland.

You've likely heard of hut-to-hut hiking, but Greenland takes a particularly, well, Greenlandic spin on the adventure with sheep-farm-to-sheep-farm treks. I spent several days last fall partaking in the fun, backpacking from one farm accommodation to the next, carrying my life (and aurora camera gear) across these far-flung trails.

It's an unmatchable opportunity to meet & mingle with local farmers, and I can tell you from my own experience, it led to some of the wildest northern lights I've seen yet. It's also a chance to trek through rich history, as the Vikings originally brought sheep farming to the island. Greenlandic Inuit farmers continue the trade today. Learn more in my Nat Geo story, and go snag your plane ticket stat! CC: Visit Greenland

A big thank you to my incredible travel-writer companion turned friend, Yulia Denisyuk, for including my new 100 Nights of a Lifetime National Geographic book in the latest Going Places newsletter.

Yulia's newsletter shares an important and refreshing perspective on the travel media industry, particularly changemakers within it. I feel quite honored to be included, and nostalgic with that mention of our first of what I hope to be many trips together. (Read through to see where we went!)
