Stephen Morgan is a highly accomplished scholar with a vast array of educational achievements across prestigious institutions worldwide.

He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in History from The Australian National University, a Master of Arts in Asian Studies from The University of Hong Kong, and has studied Economics, Chinese, and History at Nanjing University. Additionally, he has pursued Chinese studies at Beijing Language and Culture University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Monash University.

Professionally, Stephen has held prominent roles at various esteemed organizations. He is currently a Professor of Chinese Economic History at the University of Nottingham. Previously, he served as the Executive Director of the UNNC Nottingham China Health Institute, Associate Provost (Planning), and Dean of Social Sciences at The University of Nottingham Ningbo China. Prior to that, he was an Associate Professor and Reader at the University of Nottingham, Senior Lecturer in Asian Economic History at the University of Melbourne, Assistant Editor at the Far Eastern Economic Review, Chief Reporter at The Standard in Hong Kong, Freelance China-based contributor at South China Morning Post, and Reporter at Geelong Advertiser.
