Stephen Opat, a prominent figure in the field of Clinical Haematology, is the Director of Clinical Haematology at Monash Health.

He is recognized as the founder and chair of the Australasian Lymphoma and Related Diseases Registry and plays a pivotal role as the lead investigator of the Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance Lymphoma Flagship.

Having received his training in Haematology at The Alfred and Austin Hospitals in Melbourne, Stephen further honed his expertise through a fellowship in Cambridge, UK, where he conducted research on Hodgkin lymphoma biology.

He holds the esteemed position of Clinical Professor in the School of Clinical Sciences at Monash University and serves as a principal investigator in over 60 trials primarily centered around lymphoid cancer.

He also established a groundbreaking first-in-human and early phase haematology research unit at Monash Health in 2014, showcasing his commitment to advancing medical research and patient care.
