I have two initial thoughts about this. The first is that it is not smart to deliberately eat foods whose express purpose is to harm you. The second is that I am interested to see the results of the investigation into the cause of death. There many scenarios in which the chip might be merely associated with, but not the cause of, this tragedy.

So, We are to believe that Ben Franklin's famous quip: "Early to bed and early to rise..." is wrong. According to CNN, even leaving the clock permanently set on Daylight Savings Time is going to cause illness and death. But, I'm struck by the fact that this is functionally the same thing as choosing to go to bed an hour earlier and wake up an hour earlier. Does anyone actually believe this could be harmful? I suppose, as a scientist, I should remain open to the possibility that the night-owl lifetyle is actually healthier and that Franklin was exactly wrong in his pronouncement, but until I see data I'm going to guess that the appearance of this article is more related to a pathology of how news stories are selected and sourced than to a problem of circadian rhythms.
