Stephone Coward II, II

Financial Advocate | Hip Hop Caucus Economic Justice Director | Ecosystem Builder | Fellow | Founder

After two decades in the banking industry, I know that our current economic system needs to be modernized to meet the needs of the next generation. We need to shift the flow of capital from extractive institutions that perpetuate economic injustice and create regenerative ones that support us.

I am passionate about building ecosystems that address economic, social, and environmental issues and utilizing data-based storytelling to create easily digestible tools and resources so people can make more informed decisions.

It’s expensive to be poor, and that’s unjust. I’ve experienced financial insecurity and economic inequality, so I’ve made it my purpose to leverage what I have learned personally and professionally to do my part to change the system for good.

Hey my friends!

I want to share that Stop the Money Pipeline, a coalition that I sit on the steering committee of, is hiring a Campaign Manager to run our campaigns on big asset managers.

This person will work on the Vanguard SOS campaign to push Vanguard, the world’s second-largest asset manager, to respect human rights, phase out financing for fossil fuels, and align its business model with the goals of the Paris Agreement. The successful candidate will work with STMP staff and a core team of fellow strategists and campaigners to develop, hone, and implement a campaign strategy that wins real-world policies from Vanguard.

Please submit applications by Feb 9th. We hope to make a job offer by March 11th. Applications submitted after Feb 9th will be accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled. First-round interviews will commence on Feb 19th.
