Highlights
30 days.
That's the countdown until I run the Boston Marathon on behalf of my cousin and the foundation that remembers her: the Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation.
Today is Boston Marathon Giving Day, a day where the community supports the more than 200 nonprofits in reaching their fundraising goals for the marathon.
This marathon build over the past four months has been special, rewarding, and humbling.
It's been filled with exciting race PRs and lessons learned from failed workouts, but that's part of the sport.
Words can't even begin to describe my excitement to toe the line in Hopkinton next month.
And do it all for Vanessa, thanks for your amazing support.
I'd love for you to help me cross the fundraising finish line. I'm 97 percent of the way there. Link below.

I recently was a reporter again.
Unlike previously chasing breaking news in the greater Boston market, I wrote something personal.
It was my story about why I’m running the Boston Marathon in honor of my late cousin and the foundation that remembers her, the Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation
It was a beautiful and challenging opportunity to share a long-form piece with one of our local publications in Charleston, South Carolina.
Now in my late 30s, running is more about being consistently good versus occasionally great. It’s about lacing up my shoes and trying to be a better version of myself, especially for my family, and continuing to keep Vanessa’s legacy alive.
And, of course, enjoying the thrills of racing.
On Marathon Monday, there’ll be no better feeling than crossing the finish in honor of family.
Thank you Dunes West Magazine and Best Version Media for letting me share why I love running and why I’m so excited to return to Boston in about six weeks.
I’m less than $960 to my fundraising goal of $9,500 for the foundation. Wanna help me reach my goal? Donate here:
