This Earth Day, I'm proud to share that a growing coalition of business leaders and public health experts, alongside the Health Action Alliance, is launching the National Commission on Climate and Workforce Health.
The World Economic Forum recently reported that CEOs have identified extreme weather as a top threat to their businesses in the coming year. However, only 17% of global CEOs have implemented strategies to protect employees from the health impacts of our changing climate.
The Commission is charged with providing employers with the tools, insights and collaborative opportunities they need to ensure the safety of their employees and the continuity of their businesses. To start, we are releasing a comprehensive report outlining the challenges, the Commission’s goals and initial recommendations.

Workplaces are leading the charge in advancing civic education in the United States and around the world. Congratulations to the incredible companies of the Civic Alliance, whose work to foster civic education is being recognized by The New York Times.
Your companies are empowering employees to understand democracy, recognizing the dangers of disinformation, and promoting healthy discourse not only benefits the workplace but contributes to a more resilient and democratic society. The recent challenges we've faced globally highlight the importance of strengthening democratic values, and I'm proud that our coalition has taken on this critical mission.
I'm grateful to Democracy Works and the Creative Artists Agency Foundation for their leadership in founding the Civic Alliance -- and to all the participating companies for their commitment to this cause. Let's continue to work together to create environments where all employees feel comfortable, where discourse is respectful, and where democratic values thrive.
