Subash Bastola

Subash Bastola, PhD, PEng, is a Mining Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with over 8 years of experience in academia and the mining industry, specializing in mining methods and safe practices.

His expertise includes underground and surface mine designs, mine ventilation, rock mechanics, ground control, and mine planning/scheduling, with a track record of managing collaborative mining and geomechanical research projects.

Subash holds a PhD in Natural Resource Engineering (Mining Engineering) from Laurentian University, an MS in Mining Engineering from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, and a BE in Mining Engineering from Instituto Superior Minero Metalurgico de Moa.

He has fulfilled all the requirements for the Professional Engineer (PEng) license from the Professional Engineers Association of Ontario (PEO), with the exception of one-year Canadian experience. Subash is fluent in Spanish and English and is currently learning French. He has a strong adaptability to multicultural work settings and is willing to relocate.
