Highlights
The natural bond children have with the nature and biodiversity around them often gets weakened with the experience their families have while living around wildlife.
Wild Shaale's intervention in working with these children and helping them rediscover their empathetic side towards wildlife and wild lands has made phenomenal difference. Their curiosity is unmatched and how Wild Shaale channels it towards knowing more about the environment we live in is going to fruit a long term impact that we need to safe guard the planet.
Since our launch in 2018, Wild Shaale has been all about sparking a love for wildlife in children, who will one day grow up to protect it. To bring Wild Shaale to a 100 new schools in the Eastern Ghats, we need your help. We need to raise Rs. 85,00,000 ($100,000) by 5th September. Each new school requires Rs. 85,000 to implement our program.

Do we really need to teach about Nature to students in schools near Wildlife Reserves?
The question above is something I have been asked several times whenever i speak about our program Wild Shaale in any of my interactions. Everyone feels that if one lives next to Nature and Wildlife one would automatically love the wildlife. But the truth about this is far from what we understand.
During my first visit to a field close to Nagarhole tiger reserve I got to know the extent of the impact the wildlife interaction leaves on families and especially the children in those areas who feel their future is being impacted by the negative interactions wildlife and humans have in those areas.
We living in cities may understand wildlife differently and to make these families and children empathise and appreciate the wildlife around them is a different ballgame altogether which Wild Shaale has been achieving since last 6 years beautifully.
Wild Shaale was envisioned by Dr. Krithi K. Karanth in partnership with National Geographic and is celebrating its 6th Anniversary. In these 6 years Wild Shaale has worked with over 1000 schools in 5 states and reached over 50,000 students living around wildlife protected areas.
The press release by National Geographic Celebrating the partnership and the amazing work being done over the years is a testament to the science, effort and passion that has been poured by countless people towards this amazing program.
Do read through this press release and contribute to this super fun and yet much needed program.
