Susana Konishi

Susana Konishi is a professional with a strong background in quantitative and qualitative analysis, evaluation, training, and capacity building in various areas including workforce development, health policy, education policy, health literacy, clear communication, cultural competency, community engagement, and community economic development.

Her expertise lies in usability testing of written materials and websites, focus group facilitation, community-based participatory research, and Youth-led Participatory Action Research.

Susana holds a Master's degree in Gerontology from San Francisco State University and dual Bachelor's degrees in Psychology & Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley.

She began her educational journey at Fremont High and continued through Calvin Simmons Junior High School and Jefferson Elementary School.

Throughout her career, Susana has held key roles in various organizations including her current position as Executive Director at the Sustainable Business Alliance of the East Bay.

She was also a Co-Founder & Principal at Communities in Collaboration, the Best Babies Zone Coordinator at Alameda County Public Health Department, and a Participatory Consultant as an Independent Consultant among other positions.

Prior roles include Director of Community Economic Development at Youth Uprising, Project Co-Director at Health Research for Action, and Program Coordinator/Director of Resident Activities and Volunteer Coordinator at Sunrise Senior Living.

Susana's early career involved a position as a Program Coordinator at On Lok.
