Susy Hota is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto, as well as the Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) and Division Head of Infectious Diseases at the University Health Network (UHN) in Toronto, Canada.123 She is also the co-lead of the University of Toronto Microbiota Therapeutics Outcomes Program (MTOP).4

Hota received her Medical Degree from the University of Toronto in 2002 and later completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the same institution.1 In 2011, she earned a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Toronto.1 She has been registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) since July 1, 2002 and holds an Independent Practice registration class since July 21, 2006.5 She was certified in Infectious Diseases (September 19, 2007) and Internal Medicine (June 30, 2006).5

Hota's research interests include the epidemiology and treatment of Clostridium difficile infection and preparedness for infectious diseases emergencies.1 She co-leads MTOP, a program focused on fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) for recurrent Clostridium difficile infection and other potential applications.4
