Highlights
Sooner we are moving towards an era where it will be difficult to differentiate between whether we are talking to a human or AI on the other side. After quite a bit of experimentation and training my custom GPT for few days, it still feels like it's not picked up my language or the writing style. I am sure it's only a matter of time where the AI will move from predicting next characters or pixels to predicting human emotions as well. That will truly be the era of conversational AI. Thanks TechGig for penning down my thoughts and perspectives on this.
Founder 101: The Curse of Your Own Words
Over the past 8 years, I've been on an incredible journey of building something. Being a founder means being a lifelong learner, yet there are barely any structures or avenues that exist for feedback and continuous learning of founders. Sharing few of my learnings that may be helpful which I have learnt the hard way.
As a founder, you're always under the curse of your own words. So, save them for last. In any meeting or brainstorming session, if you're the first one to speak, you can be sure that the final outcome, landing in your inbox a few days later, will be some version of your own words, wrapped in beautiful templates and jargons. You might watch discussions veer off course, heading in a direction you never intended, and feel an unbearable urge to clearly state your thoughts. But the key is to stay silent until the end. The best thing you can do is gently remind everyone that time is running out or suggest something like, “Perhaps we could think in this direction.” Save the last 5-7 minutes for yourself. Use that time to highlight ideas that are closer to the solution, discard impractical ones, and crisply synthesize the next steps with clear timelines. Of course, this is easier said than done. I’m learning every day and trying to improve. After all, we are victims of the founder’s instinct, which is so similar to a mother’s instinct, kicking in without us even realizing it.
P.S. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect those of any organisation I may be associated with. Will try my best to make this a fortnightly series !!!
