Swastika Sur is a highly motivated and organized Molecular & Cellular Biologist with over 10 years of experience in translational sciences. She holds an MSc. in Biotechnology from India and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the USA. Swastika has been involved in groundbreaking research projects, focusing on identifying biomarkers and developing methodologies for conditions such as allograft disease and rejection in kidney transplant patients. Her postdoctoral work at UCSF specialized in Nephropathic Cystinosis, where she identified the role of V-ATPase in intracellular injury pathways leading to kidney injury and male infertility. Utilizing cutting-edge CRISPR/cas9 technology, she successfully created CTNS-knockout human renal cell lines for in-vitro studies of cystinosis-induced renal pathology. Swastika's exceptional research proposals on male infertility in Cystinosis have earned funding from reputable organizations in 2020, such as Cystinosis Ireland and Cystinosis Research Network.
