Having pursued a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from St. Edward's University, a Master's degree in Law - Advanced Legal Studies, and Certified Paralegal credentials from Texas State University, Sylvia has a solid educational foundation.

Throughout her career, Sylvia has held key roles such as Project Management Consultant at J.L. Powers & Associates, Founder & Chief Strategist at CAPED-Coalition for Apprenticeship Partners in Economic Development, and Principal Consultant at Praesel Consulting.

Her previous positions include serving as the Director of Title V and an Adjunct Professor at Texas A&M International University, as well as working as a Public Sector Legislative Liaison at Deloitte.

Sylvia also has experience as an EA Paralegal & Research Assistant at Arthur Andersen & Co., Chief of Staff at the Texas House of Representatives, and an Intern at the Texas Office of the Governor Ann Richards.
