After 4.5 amazing years at Carbon Engineering Ltd., late last year I made the decision to move on and say farewell to the great team there. After some relaxing down time, I'm excited to be entering my next chapter as Director of Communication at Captura. Carbon removal is a critical tool in our fight against climate change, and the impending deployment of large-scale Direct Air Capture projects is cause for celebration. But our work is far from done, and we need to scale up as many climate tools as possible, as quickly as possible. That's why I'm delighted to be joining the talented team at Captura who are working on another essential carbon removal solution – Direct Ocean Capture. This approach uses the world's oceans to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. This choice – to leverage the oceans’ natural capacity as a carbon sink – gives this technology immense potential as a large-scale, low-cost climate solution.
