Tara Moses

Co-Artistic Director in Residence at RED EAGLE SOARING

Tara Moses (she/her) is a citizen of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma and of Muscogee Creek descent.24 She is an accomplished director, multi-award-winning playwright, and co-Founder of Groundwater Arts.123 Moses currently serves as the co-Artistic Director in Residence at Red Eagle Soaring (RES), a position she shares with Madeline Sayet.13

Moses has an extensive background in theater, with her work as a director being showcased in various cities across the United States.2 Her playwriting portfolio includes several notable works such as "Sections," "He'eo'o" (Winner of the 2019 Native Storytellers Contest), and "Quantum" (2020 and 2021 Finalist for the National Playwrights Conference).23

In addition to her role at RES, Moses is also the Producing Artistic Director of telatúlsa.3 She holds a B.A. in Theatre from the University of Tulsa and is currently pursuing an M.F.A. in Directing at Brown University/Trinity Rep.2

Moses is deeply committed to advancing Native representation in theater. She has been involved in numerous initiatives and programs aimed at supporting Indigenous artists and storytelling, including serving on the Advisory Board of Broadway for Racial Justice and participating in various fellowships and residencies.2
