Highlights
Today is my official last day at Paula's Choice Skincare.
I want to thank my incredible community for all of your generous words and recognition of my last post. Each and every one of you have played an important part of my career journey - your mentorship, support and friendship is deeply cherished. I promise to keep you all apprised as my next chapter unfolds.
Warmest! Tara
Last week I announced that I am leaving my role as CEO of Paula's Choice Skincare.
I love this company, the brand, the employees and working for Unilever Prestige, but I know the timing is right. Servant leaders must foster leadership strength behind them and recognize when it is time to step aside to allow their team to advance. I am confident that under my successors our company culture will thrive, the brand will continue to grow, and they will see unmatched results.
Leading this high-performance team has been an honor and privilege. Since 2016 we have brought Paula's Choice from the best-kept secret in beauty to being recognized in the industry as the leading direct-to-consumer global skincare brand. This is due to our highly efficacious products, putting consumer education first and strong digital and omnichannel capabilities.
As I look back at our accomplishments, I sincerely thank every Paula’s Choice employee, past and present, who has been part of this tremendous journey. Our company culture is rooted in kindness, inclusivity, and teamwork, which results in the most impressive displays of creativity and entrepreneurial spirit I have ever seen. I also thank TA Associates and Jeffrey Barber for bringing me on and for their unwavering support of my team and me. I am grateful to Unilever and Vasiliki Petrou for seeing our potential; Prestige is the perfect home for this special brand. And to Paula, thank you for trusting me to take care of Paula’s Choice, I truly believe that I am passing it into safe and capable hands.
I am not moving to another company or retiring; only taking a bit of time to think about my next mountain to climb. I am feeling inspired by women’s health, feminine tech and menopause. Most women spend over a third of their life in menopause, yet it is still underserved and surrounded by stigma. It is clear that there is a substantial unmet need and an opportunity for impact by creating a solution to help women feel understood and supported during this phase.
As ever, I remain open to possibility and believe that with a bit of time off, I will be able to flesh out how I want to contribute in a meaningful way during the next stage of my career.
