Director, Evidence and Methods at National COVID-19 Clinical Evidence Taskforce

Tari Turner is a dedicated professional who excels at translating evidence into actionable health policies and practices, with a particular focus on women, babies, and children's well-being. She possesses a strong skill set in research design, synthesis, communication, and implementation, and finds joy in observing research positively impact the world.

As the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the BMC journal 'Health Research Policy and Systems' in partnership with the World Health Organization, and a member of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Group for WHO's Department of Reproductive Health and Research, Tari plays a key role in shaping health research and policy.

Tari's involvement in Project Transform, a prominent health evidence initiative funded by NHMRC and Cochrane, where she spearheaded various components like TaskExchange, Living Systematic Review, and Guidelines, showcases her leadership in driving innovative evidence production on a global scale.

Prior to her current roles, Tari held significant positions at World Vision, Cochrane, and the Centre for Clinical Effectiveness, where she contributed to impactful projects such as SEA-URCHIN and CIPHER, focusing on improving healthcare practices and policies through evidence-based approaches.

Tari's educational background is extensive, with a Doctor of Philosophy in Population Health from Monash University, a Post Graduate Certificate of Biostatistics from the University of Melbourne, a Master of Business with a focus on eBusiness and Communication from Swinburne University of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Monash University. Her academic journey reflects her multidisciplinary approach to solving complex health challenges.

Currently serving as the Director of Evidence and Methods at the National COVID-19 Clinical Evidence Taskforce, Tari continues to drive evidence-based decision-making during the global health crisis. Her past roles as a Senior Research Fellow at Monash University and various leadership positions at World Vision Australia and the Centre for Clinical Effectiveness highlight her extensive experience in research, program effectiveness, and health advisory roles.
