✨ Reflecting on the Journey So Far - whatdoyoucoffee.com ✨
With over one month since the launch of What Do You Coffee, a better-for-you coffee with superfoods, transitioning from the HR/tech world to becoming an entrepreneur in the health and wellness industry, here are some of the key takeaways:
-
First Weeks of Sales: The first week was full of sales from people that I know and wanted to try these powerful blends. It quickly turned into people I don't know at all. The balance of the month saw a few hundreds of people trying one or two of the products in Canada and the USA. We've secured one retail store so far, had a few introductions on the way, and successfully participated in a farmer's market here in Calgary.
-
Pace of Growth: Is it going fast or slow? It's easy to compare with other brands and other people's journeys, and it's not that easy to be confident when working in a new industry. After one month, some days I felt proud realizing that hundreds of people tried our blends, we have returning customers already, and the feedback has been positive and helpful. And some days I felt that I am not doing even close to enough because it's hundreds, not thousands, and so many other brands were able to do that. Also not having the predictability of the business has been challenging. Some days are the best day ever, and some days are not, and I don't know yet why. We need a bit more time so the data can tell the story, while we get more skills to grow.
-
Encountering Scams: It's impressive how many scams I've encountered, from third-party labs and packaging to marketing solutions. They are really everywhere!
I am not alone. I'm amazed by the kindness of (very) talented people who supported us. I don't think they realize how valuable each conversation or support has been. Thanks so much Howard Behar, Toya Ribail, Hussam Tungekara, and Elizabeth Gallagher.
And a special thanks to Natassya Lu, Ruby Bhatnagar, Raquelle Gomes and my partner Rafael O. that continue supporting my journey with all his heart and open mind.
Exciting News: Launching My Business Today!
Today marks a significant milestone in my journey. After years of dreaming and planning a career change, I am thrilled to officially launch 'what do you coffee'. Starting this venture was not an easy decision. It took a lot of courage to step out of my comfort zone.
During my maternity leave, I faced unexpected challenges: being laid off and dealing with health issues post-pregnancy. While these moments were difficult, they gave me the courage to embark on a journey toward healthier living, and discovering mushroom coffee was a game-changer for me. However, finding the right blend was a challenge. So, I created my own with a few things in mind: high-concentration and high-quality ingredients, ethically sourced (respecting the people and the planet), and superior taste.
We are committed to helping people make healthier choices while respecting the world and supporting small producers and their families. Our coffee alternatives are lower in caffeine, enriched with superfoods (functional mushrooms and MCT oil C8), and all organic. Our blends offer numerous benefits, including enhanced focus and clarity from adaptogenic mushrooms, sustained energy with lower caffeine and acidity content to avoid jitters and crashes, immune support from rich beta-glucans and antioxidants, and a great taste that combines the richness of coffee with the health benefits of mushrooms.
