Kudos to @MustStopMurad for his extremely cogent Token2049 presentation on the meme coin supercycle.

He’s completely right that meme coins provide retail buyers with inherent utility that professional investors in the ivory tower tend to discredit and overlook.

But the criticism against “tech coins” as inherently vaporware feels like a misdiagnosis. Retail’s true beef is with the capital structure behind new tech coin launches (i.e. too many pre-launch investor dollars, artificially inflated valuations, etc.)

These issues will likely begin to be solved within this cycle, due to pre-listing pressure from the exchanges & other factors.

The biggest winners of this cycle will marry the memetic “cult” value prop, with real technical innovation in the software behind the coin. $TAO and @berachain being two prime examples.

Also, $TAO had zero pre-mine, no pre-launch VCs, and it’s resilient price performance this year exemplifies that retail does not have an aversion to tech coins per se, but to any coin with excessive VC concentration & poor distribution.

Kudos to @MustStopMurad for his extremely cogent Token2049 presentation on the meme coin supercycle.
